I worked on CoCo stuff for the better part of 12 hours today. I'm feeling pretty tired, but at least I got a lot done!

I feel like I've been sewing like crazy, but judging from my to do list in my last post, it doesn't seem like I've accomplished much!

What I have done:
-restyled wig
-finished gala skirt
-sewn jewels on gala bodice, and tacked seams in sleeves
-assembled bow at waist (it just needs to be tacked)
-made half the coral necklace
-started the briar rose skirt

Halfway done with my skirt hem. I still need to figure out the closures for the waist, though, since judging by the lack of comments to my last post, no one had any ideas...

Moving sucks. I spent pretty much all of Wed-Fri moving to my new apartment. And then today, I had two performances, and came home and put together a giant ikea shelving unit (which is still laying flay on the floor, because it's to heavy for me.to stand up by myself!) The trimming is done on the bodice. Not including the sleeves, though, since I haven't actually cut those out yet. Luckily, I have the next two days off, with very little to do besides apartment hunting, an audition, and opening night on Friday ( Read more... )

So in between all the major stressing going on in my life with the whole apt hunting thing, I have found time to do a bit of handsewing. I've bound the top edge of my gala bodice, applied a row of lace down the sides of the center front, and have started attaching the wide lace "collar" (for lack of a better term) to the neckline of the bodice. I finally have internet again! I tried on the bodice on Sunday. Unfortunately, I think the cotton twill that I made the boned section out of must have a lot more give than with the silk taffeta on top, because I have app. a 2" gap in my lacing. The binding is almost halfway done. I finished the back side of all the binding I had done by yesterday.

Still haven't tried it on though... Maybe tomorrow?

And I won't have my normal days off anymore, because I've been transferred to a different location. On the plus side, it's only about a 5-10 min commute, but I don't get Mondays-Tuesdays ( Read more... )

I finished the front side of all the tabs on one side (aka, 5 tabs). I haven't tried on the bodice yet, since I realized the inside of those tabs is filled with pins! So my goal for tomorrow, when I don't have rehearsal, is to finish the insides of those tabs, and then try it on. Even though it makes me really nervous that it won't fit for some ( Read more... )

I finished my eyelets! And I started on the tabs. I was hoping I'd be able to do one side in the machine, but there's just too many bones. Plus I think inside corners are easier to do by hand than on the machine... So I fray-checked all my edges, and I already have the fashion fabric side of one tab done!
